France-Concerns over salmonella in poultry farms.

FRANCE

Salmonella risk on poultry farms.

Around one third of Turkey Flocks in the EU, providing meat for human consumption were found to contain some presence of Salmonella.

These figures were given out by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) this week.

The assessor said that 30.7 pc of the farms tested, posed a risk to spreading infection.

The greatest risk with salmonella is posed by under cooking, however the survey suggests that the highest risk in meat, is with turkey meat.
