Mark Riches has joined GrowHow UK as the company’s field-based Farm Adviser for the Eastern region. GrowHow is the UK’s market leader offering high quality fertilisers and, through its team of Farm Advisers, first-class nutrient management advice. Mark will work closely with our partners and farmer customers to provide helpful, practical, technical advice on fertiliser and crop nutrition.

Clive Deeley Business Advice Manager for GrowHow says: “Mark’s focus will be on increasing GrowHow’s impact and nutrient advice in this important arable area.” Mark took up his new position on 4 November.

A farmer’s son from Great Yarmouth and a graduate of Harper Adams University College, Mark spent time farming and travelling before joining a leading East Anglian agrochemical distribution advice and services company in 2002. As Contractor Manager he was responsible for the company’s fleet of crop sprayers and spreaders.

He continued in this role through the various mergers and acquisitions. During this time he not only expanded the contracting business, but also gained experience of spraying and fertilising a variety of specialist root and salad crops as well as the core cereal crops. In 2009, he progressed to Regional Crop Protection Manager before becoming National Liquid Fertiliser Manager.

Based near Lowestoft, Mark is married to Louise and they have three young children. Outside work he enjoys mountain biking, kayaking and water skiing on the Norfolk Broads.
