Knight shows expanded cultivator range at LAMMA

The C-type range of cultivators being shown by Knight Farm Machinery at LAMMA 2008 now includes a compact model that can be pulled by 150hp to 175hp tractors and brings min-till regimes within the scope of smaller farms.

The new machine is a three-metre rigid model, which has reduced the overall cost to the farmer through the absence of hydraulic folding on the machine itself and the ability to use it with a smaller tractor. Folding models up to seven metres wide are available for larger tractors.

Like other C-type machines, the new model provides a high degree of flexibility, with detachable tool-beams allowing different cultivating elements to be used as required. Features include individually rubber-mounted 610mm discs, Speed-Loc tines and an automatic hydraulic re-set system for sub-surface tines.

Sub-surface tines have low-draft winged points to optimise pan removal and minimise power consumption, and they can be fully retracted hydraulically or individually adjusted for depth and pitch to suit different field conditions.

A double row of 85mm-wide Revolver press rings with Knight's well-known shouldered design, spaced 250mm apart, produces a firm, consistent finish.
