Huge crowd drives up prices at final plant and machinery sale of 2015

Auctioneers Halls reported a good entry of machinery and implements and a huge crowd which drove up prices for the final Shrewsbury Plant and Machinery Sale of the year on December 4.

“Fresh farmer’s machinery and implements were the most sought after, with this sale including a small dispersal from a local farm and there were buyers for most items,” said Nick Hyne, Shrewsbury Auction Centre manager.

“There was another good show of tractors with demand high for the right goods, but buyers are reluctant to splash out on high value machines unless they are of premium quality.

“It was good to welcome many new buyers who said they were surprised by the volume and quality of the plant and machinery on offer. We are certainly looking to expand all sections next year, especially the plant section to meet demand from the construction industry.”
