Good trade at Shrewsbury plant and machinery auction

The best entry for two years met with a good trade at auctioneers Halls’ successful plant and agricultural machinery collective sale at Shrewsbury Auction Centre on Friday.

Top price of ’17,200 went to a 2006 registered New Holland TM120 Classic tractor as the 1,400-lot auction was conducted live on the Internet for the second time.

Other leading prices were: ’10,500 for a 2003 McHale Fusion baler, ’9,000 for a CAT TH63 telehandler, ’7,000 for a 2006 Hitachi 1.6 tonne mini digger, ’6,100 for a Marshall 14 tonne grain of silage trailer, ’4,800 each for a Kuhn heavy duty disc and a Kuhn GA7301 rotor rake and ’4,000 for a McConnell Shakerator.

Muck spreaders sold for up to ’1,900 and there as a good trade for plant machinery, harvesting equipment, lawn and grass care machinery and garden tools.

’The auction included a good selection of clean equipment and machinery straight off the farm and plant machinery, which sold very well,’ said Halls’ auctioneer Nick Hyne, manager of Shrewsbury Auction Centre. ’We need more plant machinery and tractors to meet strong demand from buyers.’
