Case IH will exhibit new products at LAMMA 2015, the UK’s largest farm equipment show, on 21 and 22 January.
In addition to the new Case IH Rowtrac, recently named Tractor Of The Year 2015, the company will be showing a suspended-track version of its new 9240 Axial-Flow combine, two- and four-wheel-drive versions of the new Farmall C tractors, new Farmall A and Quantum F models, together with the new Farmlift telescopic handler. The Case IH stand will also feature examples of the company’s Farmall U, Maxxum, Puma and Quadtrac tractors.
MAGNUM ROWTRAC
Recently named ‘Tractor of the Year 2015’, the Magnum 380 CVX Rowtrac incorporates the best elements of both wheels and tracks.
Drawing on the experience which Case IH gained from its legendary Quadtrac models, it is the first Case IH model at this horsepower to compete in the tracked market.
Remaining true to Case IH’s design philosophy of using four contact points to transmit power to the ground, it incorporates a suspended, wheeled front axle which enables power delivery to be maintained even while the tractor is turning and avoids disturbing the soil like a conventional twin-track machine. This design also reduces the amount of forward/rearward roll compared with a twin-tracked machine and enables differential locks to be fitted to maximise traction. Tracks can be 16", 18", 24" and 30" wide, allowing track settings of 76", 80", 88" or 120".
The Magnum 380 CVX Rowtrac is powered by an 8.7-litre Cursor 9 engine which is manufactured by FPT Industrial and produces a maximum output of 435hp. Powerful and efficient, this six-cylinder engine utilises Hi-eSCR technology to enable it to meet European Stage IV (Tier 4 Final) exhaust emission regulations. Simple and efficient, the system allows best-in-class 600-hour engine oil change intervals.
9240 SERIES AXIAL-FLOW
Case IH will exhibit its latest developments in harvesting technology at LAMMA 2015, including the flagship model in its new 240 Series Axial-Flow range, a 9240 fitted with suspended tracks.
Built to the highest standards, providing greatest reliability and delivering the lowest operating costs, the 498hp Axial-Flow 7240, 571hp Axial-Flow 8240 and 636hp Axial-Flow 9240 feature increased throughput and productivity to meet the needs of the largest farms and agricultural contractors, under all crop conditions. All models utilise Case IH’s proven Axial-Flow single rotor technology, which provides all the benefits associated with this advanced concept, including thorough threshing, minimum losses, gentle grain handling and excellent grain quality.
In addition to the well-proven Case IH standard tracks which reduce ground pressure in soft field conditions, the company also offers its 240-Series models with the option of fully-suspended tracks.
Available in widths of 610 mm and 724 mm, they feature four idlers which operate in two pairs, allowing them to adapt more accurately to ground contours, as well as providing a much smoother, more stable ride, both in the field and on the road. In addition to a larger ground contact area, which reduces ground pressure and actively supports the larger 14,400-litre grain tank, the new fully-suspended tracks also improve stability, ensuring that even the widest headers remain level under the most difficult field conditions. Overall width on 610mm tracks remains under 3.5m.
240-Series Axial-Flow combines have been designed to operate with the latest generation of Case IH VariCut headers, which optimise productivity and minimise grain losses. While the 7240 can be specified with 6.1m, 7.6m or 9.2m headers, the 8240 can handle 7.6m, 9.2m, 10.7m and 12.5m headers, the 9240 headers from 7.6m to 12.5m wide.
The new 240-Series Axial-Flow combines represent the culmination of the company’s decades of experience with this unique concept, ensuring that Case IH remains the specialist and trendsetter in high-performance harvesting technology. Since 1977, when Case IH revolutionised the agricultural industry with the introduction of the single-rotor combine, approximately 150,000 of these machines have been put to work on farms around the world.
FARMALL C
Case IH has expanded and upgraded its Farmall C range to include new four-cylinder models. The 58hp Farmall 55C, 64hp 65C and 74hp 75Cmodels are joined by the 86hp Farmall 85C, 99hp 95C, 107hp 105C and 114hp 115C.
Fitting into the Case IH range between the three-cylinder Farmall A models from 65hp to 82hp and high-specification, four-cylinder Farmall U Pro tractors from 99hp to 114hp, the new models are equally at home in the farmyard and around traditional buildings. At just 1.95m wide when operating on its narrowest track setting and 16.9R30 rear tyres, the Farmall C is able to access narrow feed passages and perfect for loader work. With a 55° steering angle and turning radius of just 4.2m the four-wheel-drive version is outstandingly manoeuvrable, while the two-wheel-drive version offers even tighter turning performance, just 3.7m.
Designed to appeal to farms where their low overall height of just 2.5m and tight turning radius could be beneficial, the new models are all powered by new 3.4-litre, four-cylinder, common-rail FPT diesel engines which are turbocharged and intercooled.
As standard, Farmall 55C, 65C and 75C tractors feature a 12F x 12R 40kph transmission, with the option of a Powershuttle, a real plus in forward reverse/applications such as yard scraping or manoeuvring in confined cattle yards. Larger Farmall 85C, 95C, 105C and 115C models can be specified with either a 12F x 12R Powershuttle or 24F x 24R two-speed Power Shift and Powershuttle system. All transmissions are available with a creeper ratio that can see low travel speeds down to123m/hr at rated speed.
Equipped with flat-floor cabs which incorporate a window in the front roof section to enhance visibility when working with a front-end loader, the new Farmall C models provide a valuable addition to the comprehensive Case IH range, which now extends from the 55hp Farmall A to the Quadtrac 620, the most powerful tractor in series production, which delivers almost 700hp.
The six models in the range of Case IH Farmlift Telescopic handler combine compact dimensions, powerful engines and hydraulics with multi-functional capabilities. Designed for use in low buildings and traditional livestock housing the agile Farmlift 525 is the smallest in the range, while the powerful Farmlift 935 handles high and heavy lifting work with ease. Power outputs range from 74hp (Farmlift 525) to 143hp (Farmlift 635 and 742), maximum lift heights from 5.7m to 9.6m.
Utilising the most modern transmission technology, Case IH Farmlift telescopic handlers are fast on the road and provide the full force needed for high-output loading tasks. The 632 and 935 models feature a 4x3 Powershift transmission, while a 6x3 Powershift with Autoshift function is available for 635 and 742 models, allowing them to achieve a maximum speed of 40km/h.
All Farmlift models feature a comfortable, spacious, fully-glazed operator’s cab which provides optimum visibility. All essential functions, such as boom operation, direction of travel and gear selection are controlled using the machine’s joystick.
Case IH Farmlift models have hydraulic flow capacities from 80 l/min up to 120 l/min, while the 635 and 742 feature a variable-displacement pump providing a maximum of 140 l/min. All are equipped with four-wheel drive, with three different steering modes available for excellent manoeuvrability and a tight turning circle.
