A woman is offering a £1,000 reward for the safe return of a tractor with sentimental value to her family.

Carol Voyce, 47, has pledged to give the sum to anyone who can find the little red Massey Ferguson 35X which was taken from a smallholding at Eldersfield, near Gloucester, in the early hours of March 13.

The vehicle dates from the 1960s and is a classic collectable.

"It's a family heirloom," Ms Voyce told GloucetsershireLive.

"My dad's uncle Jack Parker was a farmer and he left myself and my brother £1,000 in his will. My brother loved this little tractor and when it went to a sale, he bid for it for exactly that amount.

"It has so much sentimental value. You can't put a price on that."

The tractor, which has a little cab for the driver, is used for little jobs such as haymaking and pulling out tree trunks.

The Voyce family believe it was stolen by someone cutting a lock on the gate to their land and put on a low loader, as its tyre tracks were visible.

Officers from West Mercia Police are investigating.

"On March 13 we received a report of the theft of a Massey Ferguson tractor from a barn at Eldersfield between 5pm on 12 March and 8.30am on 13 March," said a spokeswoman.

"Any information should be reported to West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident 229S."
