A collection of vintage tractors, combine harvesters and implements assembled on a Worcestershire farm since the 1950s will be going under the auctioneer’s hammer next month.
The collection belonged to the late Fred Rolls, of Little Hall Farm, Upton Snodsbury, near Worcester, who died earlier this year aged 95.
The dispersal sale is being organised at the farm on behalf of the executors by auctioneers Halls’ Kidderminster office on Saturday, July 16 at 10.30am.
"Almost without exception, all of the machines have been on the farm since the 1950s-‘60s and either purchased new or as modern time kit from nearby farms," said Daniel Lovatt, a rural professional director at Halls.
"All tractors served Fred and, in earlier days, his father with both the in-hand operations and as local contractors.
"Whilst some of the machines can be described as near original, others have a twist demonstrating Fred’s interest, enjoyment and engineering skills in farm machinery."
The lots on offer include a Ruston and Hornsby Ltd Thrasher threshing box, Bonell baler, an Allis Chalmers Gleaner combine harvester, two Fisher Humphries Ltd Lely Victory combine harvesters with folding headers and a Massey Harris 222 Bagger combine harvester with 8ft header.
There are two JCB 3C Backhoe digger loaders, International TD-6 and T-6 Crawlers and a fully restored Ford Model A Market pickup truck first registered in 1931 with a twin axle transporter trailer.
The tractors comprise a Fordson Standard, a Fordson Major, a Fordson Diesel Major, a Fordson Super Major, a Fordson Power Major, a Fordson Super Major Manuel Roadless 4wd with Ford six-cylinder engine, a County 1174 4wd.
Many of the tractors, combine harvesters and vehicles are complete with their original registration books.
Also on offer are five tipping trailers, a four-wheel harvest dray, a good selection of implements and spare parts, wheels, tyres, workshop tools and manuals.
