A small North Shropshire arable and grassland farm with a five bedroomed bungalow and a range of traditional and modern farm buildings sold for £625,000 at a public auction on Friday.
The 52-acre White Gates Farm, Peplow, Market Drayton was sold on behalf of the executors of the late Derick Davies by auctioneers Halls at the company’s Shrewsbury headquarters.
Auctioneer James Evans said the small commercial farm, which was well located for the Midlands, could easily be turned into an equine centre or used as a base for a different type of business.
Adjoining the bungalow, which has an agricultural restriction, was a garage, a rear lawn, vegetable garden, dog kennel and run and garden shed.
The land comprised a mixture of arable, grassland and woodland with natural water supplies.
Set around a conventional farm yard, the farm building comprised a Dutch barn and lean-to, two loose housing buildings, granary, storeroom and workshop building with attached dairy, shippon, former cubicle house, pump engine building and workshop.
