Chris Willner and his team at machinery dealer Severn Farm Machinery are holding their first Open Day - on Wednesday, December 10.
The event at Rea Valley Business Park, Pontesbury near Shrewesbury, Shropshire will show off the latest McCormick tractors and Krone grassland machinery, as well as products from other manufacturers including Rabe, Sulky, HM Trailers, Landquip, Ryetec, Stocks AG, Major, Lynx and Alo Quicke, as well as the extensive range of parts, tools and sundries from McCormick partner Granit.
Severn Farm Machinery was set up earlier this year by Chris Willner and his wife Jane with the support of their sons Michael and Matthew to take up the opportunity to represent the McCormick tractor range in the area.
“I had no plans to return to the agricultural equipment sector after departing Rea Valley Tractors, a highly successful multi-branch dealership,” says Mr Willner. “But the opportunity to represent McCormick tractors and Krone grass equipment in the area, and create a new business opportunity for the family, was too good to resist.”
As workshop manager, Matthew is running the large all-makes service and repairs facility, while Michael has joined the business as parts manager, having gained experience with farm equipment dealers in Australia and at a specialist Land Rover parts wholesaler. The parts store and retail shop stocks accessories, tools and clothing from McCormick partner Granit, as well as oils, filters and other routine service items.
An extensive line-up of McCormick tractors will be on show as the range expands and is transformed by the introduction of new models featuring modern engines and transmissions, and new cabs with increased controls technology for driver comfort and productivity.
In addition to Severn's own McCormick X7.460 Pro Drive demonstrator, which has 160hp for draft work boosting to 175hp for pto and transport, the line-up will include the all-new 90-107hp X4 stockman's tractor, the 111-131hp X6 multi-spec range and the 143-176hp 'mechanical' X6L tractor.
The event is open from 12 noon until 9pm, with a hog roast and other refreshments to make it all the more enjoyable!
