Nigel Brighton (front), senior buyer at Anglia Farmers, has received a long service award following thirty years service.
Chairman George Bell (behind), made the presentation at the purchasing group's recent annual general meeting and said:
"Nigel is our longest serving member of staff and has contributed significantly to the success of Anglia Farmers. As our senior buyer for all the sundry items his remit involves masses of different items and yet he usually knows the answer to most questions members put to him."
Nigel, 56, started his career with Jewsons Builders Merchants working in Cringleford and then Dereham. He subsequently joined national engineering supply company Monks & Crane in Dereham. In 1978, he moved to Mid-Norfolk Farmers – a forerunner of Anglia Farmers - when it was a relatively small agricultural buying group based in Theatre Street, Dereham.
"My job is really interesting," said Nigel. "There's always something new going on and 30 years have passed very quickly. Anglia Farmers is a highly professional business and I am very proud to be part of an organisation which attracts top calibre people. This business has a bright future for many years ahead."
