New JAGUAR GREEN EYE
Not for nothing is the CLAAS JAGUAR the best selling self-propelled forage harvester in the UK, and with the introduction of the new CLAAS JAGUAR GREEN EYE, the best just got better.
Making its UK debut at Grassland UK, the new JAGUAR GREEN EYE brings more power to the operator's fingertips with the following :-
• New joystick
• Increased power output
Higher power
At the heart of the JAGUAR GREENEYE models are new TIER III compliant Daimler Chrysler engines offering up to 7.48% more power output for greater productivity, giving the top-of-the-range JAGUAR 900 a maximum power output of 623hp. As part of this increase, the JAGUAR 870 is now powered by a V8 engine, in common with the larger 890 and 900 models.
Variable Chop Length
Available only on JAGUAR GREENEYE 900 and 890 models, the new COMFORT CUT system enables the operator to hydraulically adjust the feed rollers whilst on the move, and from the cab quickly and easily adjust the chop length in 2.0mm increments up to 22mm.
The COMFORT CUT system can also be used with the recently introduced half blades in order to provide variable chop lengths up to 44mm.
To improve crop flow through the forager, COMFORT CUT automatically provides simultaneous adjustment of the intake auger speed as the chop length is changed.
To give up to 28% more throughput, for improved crop feed into the chopping cylinder, the feed rollers have a larger opening and are fitted with plastic inserts to prevent wrapping. To cope with this greater flow of material, and provide faster reaction time for the metal detection systems, the feed rollers are fitted with a faster reacting hydraulic clutch.
The chopping cylinder also incorporates a new integrated SAFETY STOP system, with the braking force applied through the shaft to stop the chopping cylinder within 5 seconds.
Metal detection
In line with their increased output, COMFORT CUT models have also been equipped with a new metal detection system.
This improved metal detection system uses five magnets located within the intake rollers. To provide improved coverage, the sensitivity of the magnets can be adjusted from the cab. When a metal object is detected, a quick-stop mechanism immediately halts the intake, and the in-cab display now includes a position indicator to aid location of the offending object in the swath.
Fly-by-wire
In other changes to the range all JAGUARS now feature a new design of 'fly-by-wire' joystick similar to that used in the LEXION 600 combine, which gives the operator greater reactivity and precision. In addition, all models are available with a new heavy-duty Corn Cracker.
