Kuhn Farm Machinery has upgraded its range of multi-purpose shredders with the introduction of the versatile and high work rate BPR range available in 2.4, 2.8 and 3.05 metre working widths.
Suitable for pasture or set-aside topping and shredding all kinds of plant residue and scrub, the BPR can be adapted for front or rear mounting and has hydraulic offsetting as standard. A robust double input gearbox has an integrated freewheel facility and all models are fitted as standard with automatic belt tensioning.
A universal shredding function is provided by eight rows of rotor-mounted scoop hammer knives working in conjunction with two counter knives under a hinged double hood. The hammer knives are arranged in a helical pattern to reduce the stresses on the rotor and ensure a good plant residue suction effect. Rotor bearings are greased and sealed for life.
A rear roller is located close behind the rotor, ensuring an even cutting height. The position of the roller also means that shredded material passes over, rather than under, avoiding compaction and therefore creating a better mulch.
Available through Kuhn Farm Machinery dealers throughout the UK, BPR shredders are priced at £4,756 for the 2.4 metre, £5,056 for the 2.8 metre and £5,333 for the 3.05 metre machine.
