Coventry and Warwickshire’s biggest one-day agricultural show will have a new theme this year – and organisers will be ‘milking it for all it’s worth’.
The Kenilworth Show is returning to the show grounds opposite Stoneleigh Park on Saturday, June 1 and will have a dairy theme for its 70th year.
Organisers, the Kenilworth and District Agricultural Show (KADAS), are calling on exhibitors to help showcase how the journey from the udder to the fridge is made.
Show secretary Lizz Clarke said: “We’re really excited about this year’s event and think we’ve lined up a fantastic theme which will help to capture the imagination of thousands of visitors coming to the show.
“Nearly every household up and down the country will enjoy dairy based products every day of the week.
“A lot of people will however be unaware of all the processes which go into making sure families get to enjoy a cup of tea or cheese on toast.
“I’m sure lots of people will find it interesting to hear about all the different processes which have moved on over the years, from taking care of cattle to robotic milking!”
Among the exhibitors supporting the Kenilworth Show and the dairy theme is GEA Farm Technologies, one of the world’s leading milking technology firms which has its headquarters on Stoneleigh Park.
GEA regional sales manager Dave Simmons said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Kenilworth Show and look forward to exhibiting on June 1.
“Supporting community events is extremely important to us, and we’re looking forward to showcasing some of the very latest dairying technologies, such as robotic milking, which will highlight to the public just how advanced modern dairy farming has become.”
