Humphrey Pullets of Hampshire have announced the appointment of Charles MacLeod who, as General Manager, will be responsible for all aspects of their pullet rearing operation.
Peter Humphrey, Managing Director of Humphrey Farms, who established their commercial pullet rearing business, says: "Since joining us five years ago, and successfully developing our Hazeley Enterprise Park, Charles has immersed himself in all aspects of our business. I am looking forward to working alongside Charles for Humphrey Pullets and believe that his expertise and acumen will help us to capitalise on the many opportunities for our growth in the years ahead."
Charles, whose 22 year farm management career encompasses not only almost every species of livestock, but also arable and property projects, believes that links between Humphrey Pullets, Humphrey Farms and Humphrey Feeds offer valuable synergy.
"We are fortunate in being able to see exactly how our pullets perform," says Charles, "and then fine-tune the rearing process and diet. This translates into a real competitive advantage for our customers. I also believe that we can provide our customers with a better product that adds real value to their business, backed up by first rate technical assistance and ongoing support from our extensive team of on-farm poultry specialists. Specifically we will be looking to tailor flocks more precisely to individual customers free range systems and marketing requirements."
"Humphrey Pullets use rations produced by Humphrey Feeds to a specific specification," says Peter, "and our farms are inspected, approved and audited by Freedom Foods and the Lion Code. We do have excellent potential for growth and success which I know Charles will be central to realising."
"Whilst my aim, inevitably is to grow the business and become a major producer of pullets for the free range sector," concludes Charles, "My priority is to provide a quality product and service to both new and existing customers and support free range poultry farmers in the UK."
