Ritchey gets down to brass tags

Livestock identification specialist Ritchey plc is to launch a new one-piece Brass Tag designed especially for cattle at this year's European Dairy Event (21-22 September 2005).

Following substantial investment in research and development and an overhaul of its manufacturing process at its North Yorkshire facility, the Brass Tag is being manufactured by Ritchey and offers a number of advantages over other metal tags.

Designed from brass with excellent bending and mechanical endurance qualities, the smooth-edged tag is easy to handle and install. Built-in true radius definition ensures consistent closing, while a new 'tear drop' closed cup design of the closing mechanism itself ensures simpler positive closure of the tag.

Exhaustive research by Ritchey into the optimum achievable mark on metal has resulted in deeper, more visible marking. Built-in protection comes from side 'wear' bars designed to not only prevent marks being made illegible through rubbing against on-farm hazards, but also to enhance the strength of the tag.

With an RRP of just 20p if more than 100 tags are ordered, the brass tag's excellent value is enhanced by greater strength and durability based on the latest technologies employed, claims Ritchey. It is recommended to use the new Ritchey Brass Tag Applicator, available at a special introductory price, to ensure safe, easy and secure application.
