AB Vista has recruited a new technical manager for its operations in China with all the right qualifications to take on the challenging Chinese market. Dr. Li Xiaojie, known to English-speaking colleagues as Renee, has both a BSc and a PhD in animal nutrition, plus extensive commercial experience in the animal feed industry.
Based in Beijing, Renee will be responsible for the technical support of AB Vista’s products, research institute trials and commercial evaluation projects in China.
As a student of the Ministry of Agriculture Feed Industry Centre, part of the China Agricultural University, Renee spent one-and-a-half years of her PhD programme at the Baylor College of Medicine and US Department of Agriculture Children Nutrition Research Centre, in Texas. There she carried out research into the gastrointestinal micro-ecology balance, and gastrointestinal nutrition in piglets.
Renee went on to work in research and development for Taiwan’s DaChan Food (Asia), before becoming a dairy economic analyst for the International Farm Comparison Network – collecting and analysing data from China’s dairy market.
MY Tan, Regional Technical Director for AB Vista in Asia Pacific, said: "Dr. Li has a strong technical background and excellent abilities in international communication which she gained through several years of studying and working overseas. With her sound understanding of China’s feed market and culture, we believe Renee’s appointment will increase our chances of success in one of Asia’s toughest feed enzyme markets."
