Agricultural renewable energy specialists, 4 Elements Limited, have launched a series of off-the-shelf solar powered water pumping systems – the SolarPump PS150, PS200 & PS600 units.
Once the preserve of only sunny climates like Africa and the Middle East, the improved performance of the latest generation of solar powered pumping systems means that farmers in the UK can now also benefit.
A SolarPump can free farmers from the ever rising costs of using a mains water supply and are ideal in situations where its impractical to use a permanent diesel generator or too expensive to run a mains cable.
The system uses the latest high-efficiency solar panels, which are able to generate significant quantities of electrical power even in the UK climate. A sophisticated pump controller then converts the electricial power into maximum pumping performance.
The robust submersible pumps can be used in boreholes, springs, streams and rivers and constitute the only moving part of the system. As a result, the SolarPump system is extremely reliable with almost zero maintenance needs.
Pumping capacity – The PS150 can pump up to 9,000 litres/day from a 5m head, the PS200 5,000 litres/day from a 20m head and the PS600 5,000 litres/day from a 40m head. The large systems are available that can pump 20,000 litres/day from a 50m head.
With a low water sensor and float switch stopping and starting the pump when water is demanded and/or available, the SolarPump system is completely automatic. In essence it’s a switch on and forget system.
The SolarPump PS150, PS200 & PS00 kits contain everything you need:
o Solar Panels
o Submersible Pump
o Pump Controller
o Galvanised mounting pole
o Water and weatherproof power cabling
o Low water Sensor and Float Switch
o All nuts, bolts, cables and connectors
o Full colour instruction manual
With extensive guarantees on the system farmers can be confident that their investment in a SolarPump will continue to save money for many years.
