An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Herdsperson to help lead our new dairy unit in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
We have recently expanded our business, taking on a new dairy unit to run alongside our existing farm in the village of Tittelshall. We have two dairy units, split 330 cows at one unit and 350 cows at the other, with a combined herd of 680 Autumn block calvers.
Our cows are milked twice a day through a 24/48 swing-over parlour, with the milk supplied to Arla. All records and data are kept up to date using Uniform and Cow Manager.
Your Role
As a Senior Herdsperson you will be supporting the Farm Manager running a unit of 330 cows.
You will help manage the day-to-day running of the dairy operation, ensuring a smooth start-up process, and creating a positive working environment.
Your roles and responsiilities will include but won’t be limited to:
Milking as part of a team to a high and consistent standard when required.
Daily management of the herd and ensuring animal welfare is the top priority, identifying any lame cows, and treating & identifying illnesses.
Maintaining records and ensuring data is kept up to date.
Keeping the farm overall tidy & safe to operate
Liaising with vets & nutritionists
Supporting the other unit’s requirements if necessary
This role requires a full UK driving license and proof of UK Right to Work.
AI & Foot trimming experience is preferred but not essential.

A hard-working, enthusiastic person who has strong communication skills
A self-starter who can work on their own initiative to ensure the success of the new dairy unit.
You must be able to problem solve, lead by example, and adapt to different scenarios.
