An exciting opportunity to join our mixed dairy, beef and sheep farm for a dairy herdsperson in a beautiful Cumbrian location. Be a part of our small friendly team with responsibilities including twice daily milking, herd management, calf-rearing and grassland management.This is small but growing dairy enterprise that has been producing milk since March 2020. The herd of 170 are split block Spring / Autumn calvers with the majority calving in the Spring and an emphasis on milk from grass.
With the right skills and attitude, you will have the opportunity to take the lead on tasks and as a mixed farm there are opportunities to get involved in other aspects of the farm and tailor the job to your interests.
The successful candidate must be responsible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and conscientious with a keen eye for stock and detail. This would be an ideal role for someone looking to progress from a second in command position. Training will be provided to a person with a willingness to learn and progress.
Accommodation can be provided - Great countryside position, 4-bedroom house and garden, a short walk from the farm, close to a local primary school and bus route for secondary school options and 15 minutes from Carlisle.
Salary will be negotiable depending on experience.
