Who is the course for?• Farmers & Horticulturists• Farm staff & persons who have responsibility for all aspects of mole/rabbit control• Environment Agency & River Authority works particularly in high water areas.• Groundsmen & Green keepers• Local authority and public utility personnel – parks and gardens staff, sewage works• Professional mole & rabbit controllers• Land management• GamekeepersCourse Aims Participants will be able to:• Understand the reasons for control• Biology of the mole/rabbit – breeding, feeding, behavioural patterns and use this information as an aid to better control• Identify control methods – traps, poison etc. selecting and using the appropriate system for the bestresults.• Safely & effectively handle poisons in the manner laid down in the Product Safety Data sheet• Be aware of the COSHH implications when handling these products• Practice the relevant skillsCourse Content• Reasons for control• Biology – breeding, feeding etc.• Methods of control – poison, trapping etc.• Safety, security and first aid.• Methods of control• Practical demonstration and class practice in control techniques
