Those who use pesticides in a commercial role are legally required by the Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations to hold a certificate of competence in the application of pesticides using specific equipment. This qualification is designed specifically for anyone entering into the handling, storage and use of pesticides at work. Before anyone can register for any of the further pesticide qualifications they must achieve the PA1 award.What will I learn?You will be introduced to pesticide legislation and the requirements for using, handling, storing and transporting of pesticides. This course also includes the selection and use of personal protective equipment and the keeping of pesticide related records. To achieve the PA1 award a candidate must successfully complete and pass the online e-volve test. The e-volve test is a multiple-choice test that can take up to 60 minutes. This highly regarded qualification can also help you gain confidence to go on to other land based and health and safety qualifications offered by SMB College Group.
