Course overview
This course introduces candidates to the skills they require for accessing a tree using a rope and harness and being able to carry out aerial rescue operations. It will also help candidates to identify relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice.The is course covers ‘Unit 206 – Access a Tree Using a Rope and Harness’ and ‘Unit 306 / CS38 – Carry out Aerial Rescue Operations’ and the following topics:• Legislation• Tree climbing equipment – LOLER’98• Rope configurations• Tree access• Work positioning• Light branch removal• Tree descent• Use of flip line and climbing irons• Conduct an aerial rescue• Equipment storage
