We are a multi-award winning high quality food retailer situated in the Vale of York on the A166 between Gate Helmsley and Stamford Bridge. Our motto ‘Fewer Food Miles – More Farm Yards’ encompasses everything we stand for. We pride ourselves on our 'superfresh' homegrown produce.

The majority of the products in our farmshop are produced on the farm, otherwise sourced from local producers throughout Yorkshire. Our home-made ready meals and fresh soups are made in the kitchen daily. The home-made scotch eggs, available from the deli, are particularly good. Enjoy the wide selection of freshly baked cakes by our award winning in-house baker, Phyllis.

This family run business has successfully grown soft fruit and vegetables for over thirty years. Its sandy soil gives a unique flavour to the produce. The Pick Your Own trail runs from June – September, and by cutting out the food miles, the varieties are chosen for their flavour, not their shelf life, resulting in a taste that is truly hard to beat.

We are a family run, high quality food retailer. The Machin family has seen the site grow, from the original wooden hut with a table on the side of the road, to the fully fledged farm shop that opened in April 2004. We have enjoyed a successful run of awards to date, thanks to a great team and amazing customers!

We are a true and market led farmshop because we grow the majority of our products ourselves in light sandy soil which gives a unique flavour to our homegrown produce. We grow around 30 types of fruit and vegetables, with 150 varieties. We harvest the produce from the farm fresh every morning, so we can choose varieties for their flavour and not their shelf life. This means that the produce is 'superfresh' and the most flavoursome and nutritious available. We use our concept “superfresh” because the word “fresh” has been saturated for food marketing as opposed to actual product description.
