Stradbroke (BQP)

We are the largest Pig Producer in the UK and all our pigs are born outdoors.

Dalehead is the largest pig producer in the UK and the rearing of pigs for Waitrose products is managed by the BQP team based at our offices in Stradbroke, Suffolk.

A team of approximately 45 people work together to provide the administrative, field and veterinary support to in excess of 250 pig farms located primarily in East Anglia, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and the South West. BQP also operates two of its own farm units, located in Norfolk and Suffolk. We have our own team of vets, fields staff, technical and support staff working together to ensure that our supply chain from beginning to end operates within the highest standards of welfare, quality and efficiency.

This includes our commitment to the environment as a key priority at all stages of the pig production process. Dalehead maintains a totally unique integrated system from raw material (wheat, barley etc) supply into the feed mill, to farmer, to processor and finally to retailer. NVQ programmes are available for all workers.
