Roots Farm Shop

Roots was established in 2008 through the need to improve the sustainability of the family farm and a desire to sell quality local food to the community. The farm ran by the Hutchinson family is a mixed beef and arable enterprise based at Home Farm, which is part of the Arncliffe Estate.

Roots is a social hub, giving locals the chance to chat with their neighbours and for those from the town to enjoy a taste of the countryside. We are pleased to offer a local outlet for the fantastic produce our farming neighbours are diversifying into throughout Yorkshire and the North East.

We would like to make all who visit feel part of this family farm, as they share our little piece of rural Yorkshire in all its seasonal glory.

QUALITY, FRESHNESS & AFFORDABILITY

On entering Roots customers are greeted by our butchery team, who are happy to share information about the local farms that supply the meat or offer any advice on cooking it. Shoppers then can explore the rest of the shop which is packed with every sort of local fayre from fresh fruit and vegetables, Veterans Artisan Bread, local preserves, a wide range of Yorkshire and British Cheeses, our in-house bakery goodies, wine, beer and much more. All of which are produced by local people passionate about good quality food.

We also stock a varied range of handpicked gifts, ideal for treating family, friends or something for the home.
