Glasgow Locavore

Locavore (as in carnivore, omnivore..locavore) is a Glasgow based social enterprise dedicated to local food and making our food system more sustainable. We run a shop, sell veg bags, teach cookery and deliver all sorts of projects which aim to help raise awareness of food issues and contribute to the creation of sustainable food systems which are better for the environment, the economy and our communities.

In the grandest sense we exist to kick start a sustainable local food revolution in Scotland by creating replicatible models for sustainable food production and distribution. We believe we need to revolutionise the food system and reap the benefits of a more localised food supply chain. This is a system that empowers growers and communities by keeping money local, reducing food miles and climate change emissions, and nourishing us with fresher produce and a healthy food culture.
