It all started in the early 1960’s when I sourced 36 laying hens to supply my fathers shop with really fresh eggs. By 1972 consumer demand had pushed the flock size to 1700 hens and I decided to leave my day job as a bread server in Belfast’s Ormo bakery and concentrate on selling eggs instead of bread.
Since then demand has driven expansion and as a result Ballygarvey Eggs personnel have travelled the globe to source leading edge equipment for egg production and packing to ensure really fresh superior quality eggs are produced in high welfare systems.
