                    8th in the series of successful events organized by Pixie Consulting Solutions Ltd, will consist of a specialized exhibition focused on Dairy Farming & Dairy Processing and a business programme featuring conferences and round table discussions.

The last edition was a success with a participation of  268 companies (in all concurrent events) along with the 25th Dairy Entrepreneurship program which was well appreciated by the participants. The event promises to be a one of its kind platform that encompasses the complete Dairy Industry and showcases latest innovations. It is a global platform that connects the world to the Indian Dairy Industry, a sector growing at an encouraging rate of 4-5% annually in India.

                    Poultry farmers will learn what challenges and opportunities they face in the future at this year’s NFU Cymru Poultry Board Conference on Thursday, 31 January 2013.
 
Sponsored by Wynnstay Group plc, the event will be held at the NFU Cymru headquarters in Builth Wells. NFU Cymru members are invited to the Conference which will commence at 10.30am and features four guest speakers – John Reed, Agriculture Director, Cargill Meats Europe; Elwyn Griffiths, Oakland Farm Eggs, Christopher Dickinson, NFU Poultry Adviser and Dr Mike Lee of IBERS.
 
Clare Morgan, NFU Cymru Poultry Board Chairman, said, “We have a wealth of speakers lined up for this year’s Conference who will explore the challenges and opportunities for the future of the whole industry. I hope we will get a good turnout of those from within the Welsh poultry meat and egg farming industry.”

                    From Wednesday 24th to Thursday 25th we are happy to welcome a visit from  the Flying Farmers Association. This is a very important group who play a key role in making the many farm strips available to us all.

The airfield will be open as normal and the bar and cafe will also be open all day.

Tfarmplane1he Association is open to any farmer, forester or landowner who owns an aircraft or operates an airstrip. Persons who work in businesses related to agriculture may also be eligible to join.

The main activity for members is organising events. Annually, 6 or 7 one day events, some 2 day events and a European Study Tour which is usually about 10 days. Over the last 35 years, the FFA have visited almost every country in Europe and some North African countries.

                    Come and see the new born lambs at our Forty Hall Farm, plus Clydesdale horses, rare breed cows and pigs, and Easter chicks. There’ll be children’s games and competitions with the Secret Seed Society, sheep-shearing and willow-weaving. There will also be a market with a range of tasty hot and cold local foods.

There is a shuttle bus from Capel Manor Gardens from 11am – 4pm to Forty Hall Farm

                    During the first of our children’s activity days here, we’ll explore the farm and how we grow food through games and a range of practical activities. During the afternoon we will work together in groups doing forest school activities, during which children will have the opportunity to make something to take home with them. This day is suitable for children aged between 9-11 years.

Children will need to bring their own packed lunch for the day.

Tutor: Claire Rosling

Claire is the Community Engagement Worker here at The Community Farm’s and has a range of experience in outdoor education including running a Forest School in Bristol. She will be running children’s activity days for us here at the farm during school holidays in addition to school trips during term-time.
