Ventus wins UK turbine distribution rights

Ventus Green Energy, Scotland’s fast growing Renewables company, has been appointed as sole UK distributor to New Zealand’s leading wind turbine manufacturers, as they launch themselves into the UK marketplace.

Following changes in government policies encouraging green electricity generation, including incentives for turbine purchasers, Ventus Green Energy has joined forces with Christchurch based Windflow Technology, a publically listed company on the New Zealand Exchange’s alternative market, the NZAX.

Already, Galston based Ventus Green Energy has received over 350 expressions of interest from Scottish farmers seeking information about the Windflow 500 turbine, and currently, appropriate planning consent is being sought in scores of cases.

Commenting on the appointment, Geoff Henderson, CEO of Windflow Technology said; "In Ventus Green Energy, Windflow has found a great partner to bring Windflow 500 turbines to this exciting growth opportunity in the UK market. Ventus Green Energy has an excellent reputation and offers its customers a turnkey solution, from feasibility studies through to turbine construction and ongoing servicing."

Tommy Loudon, Ventus Green Energy’s Head of Planning and Environment adds; "There is little doubt that wind turbines are playing an increasingly important role in generating green energy, so we are delighted to be working with Windflow Technology, a company whose ambitions for growth match our own."
