United Oilseeds strengthens its Scottish support team

United Oilseeds has strengthened it local support team by appointing a new area manager in Scotland.

Andrew Milne, who lives in the Scottish Borders, will join United Oilseeds on March 16, 2009 as the company’s Scottish area manager. His appointment will strengthen the level of service and support that members of United Oilseeds from across Scotland receive in terms of rapeseed marketing assistance, agronomic advice and seed selection guidance.

Andrew joins United Oilseeds from Philip Wilson Grain, where he was employed for eight years as manager and trader at the Charlesfield grain store in Roxburghshire. Prior to this, Andrew has worked for companies such as BOCM and McCreath Simpson and Prentice Ltd, where he was responsible for selling and purchasing grain and oilseed rape.

"Andrew comes to us with a wealth of experience," comments Chris Baldwin, managing director of United Oilseeds. "His background of dealing with farmers and grain merchants throughout Scotland makes him the ideal fit for our business."

"Andrew’s enthusiasm for the industry will add vital capacity to the United Oilseeds team and will enable our Scottish members to capitalise on a range of opportunities that exist in the UK arable sector. We look forward to welcoming Andrew into the business and feel confident that he will form an integral part of the company’s progress and success throughout Scotland."
