Three blocks of Mid Wales farmland set for May auction

Three blocks of accommodation land in Mid Wales will be going under the hammer at a public auction next month.

The auction has been organised by leading Shropshire and Mid Wales auctioneers Halls at Sarn Community Centre on May 6 at 6.30pm.

The lots include a 16.84-acre productive and fertile block of land adjacent to Greystones, Bluebell, Churchstoke, which has a price guide of £7,000-£8,000 per acre and is being sold on behalf of the family of the late Mrs Stella Watkin.

The flat field, which is suitable for grazing livestock or conservation, has a natural water supply from the Cae Bitra brook.

Also up for auction is a 21.51-acre block of land at Pantyllidiart Hill, Kerry, Newtown, which has a price guide of £6,000 per acre and is being sold on behalf of Mr Michael Whittall. Providing excellent grazing for all forms of livestock, the land has a piped water supply from a reservoir a water tank.

The third lot is a useful 25.75-acre block of pasture and woodland at Bahaillon Bank, Sarn, which has a guide price of £4,000 to £5,000 an acre and is being sold on behalf of M Higgs and the executors of late L. V. Higgs.

The upland grazing land has woodland, which provides shelter during the winter and a natural water supply from a steam. Halls say it’s ideal for sheep wintering and has a strong amenity value for non-agricultural uses due to its topography, variety and rural location.
