Three Counties Society Chief to retire
Nick Vincent, chief executive of the Three Counties Agricultural Society, is to retire in November this year, after eight years at the helm.
Nick came to the Society’s Three Counties Showground home in Malvern, Worcestershire, with a wealth of business experience, after working as a consultant and non-executive director to a diverse range of small, market-leading, premium companies.
Prior to this he was managing director of SAPA Building Systems for four years following eight years as the group’s finance director. He spent four years working in central Africa and travelled extensively on business within Continental Europe.
When he arrived at the Showground, Nick’s priorities were to provide strategic direction, improve communication, develop the executive team and raise the profile of the Society.
Under his leadership, there has been a passion for success and an improved standing in the sectors in which the Society operates, leading to revenue growth of 60% and more robust profitability.
He has made a particular impact on areas of governance, show development, education delivery, catering, administration, IT, and contractor liaison. He has also fostered excellent, mutually beneficial relationships with the local business and residential communities.
His dedication to enhance the customer experience, has resulted in significant improvements to the Showground’s infrastructure, including roads, entrances, conveniences and general buildings, and culminating in the development of the new Three Counties Centre, which opened for business in November 2011.
More specifically, he has provided vision, strategy, passion and drive leading to the resurgence of the Three Counties Show as a major player on the circuit. He has also introduced the ever popular children’s food and farming event, CountryTastic, the fast growing Farming Conference and the new Malvern Caravan Show.
He said: “The last eight years have been challenging, yet rewarding, from both a professional and personal perspective. I am delighted to have met and worked with a broad spectrum of people from every sector of society. It has been a pleasure.”
Nick has built a strong senior management team, which combines creativity and innovation with disciplines and procedures to ensure all the Society’s shows and events remain fresh, and well- organised.
Said Michael Warner, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Trustees: “Nick has certainly made his mark while he has been with us, and leaves the Society having laid down some solid business foundations, upon which we can build. On behalf of the Board and the Society’s Council, I would like to thank him for his hard work and commitment, and wish him the very best for the future.”
The Society will be announcing the appointment of a successor shortly.
