Many pig producers who use computerised records get into the habit of looking at a standardised set of reports, says ACMC veterinary consultant Paul Thompson.
He points out that there is frequently far more detail in these programmes that can be easily extracted, such as performance by parity, performance by age of gilts at service, etc.
Producers will find it well worthwhile reviewing reports available with their software supplier and advisers to get the most out of the data that they are already collecting.
