Shropshire pastureland to be sold

Two productive blocks of Shropshire pastureland are to be sold by public auction next month.

Auctioneers Halls are selling 49 acres of land at Argoed, Kinnerley, near Oswestry in four lots and 32 acres of land at Rosedene, Horderley, Craven Arms will also be going under the hammer at the auction to be held at the company’s Welsh Bridge head office in Shrewsbury at 6pm on Monday, October 25.

The land at Argoed, which has a guide price ranging from £4,000 to £8,500 an acre, is being sold for Mr Tudor Evans as surplus to his requirements. Each lot has good road access and provides excellent grazing for horses, sheep or cattle.

Lot one comprises 14.41 acres opposite Poplar Farm, lot two comprises nearly 25 acres divided by a disused railway, lot three comprises two acres of grassland suitable for grazing or conservation and lot four comprises 7.85 acres.

In South Shropshire, the land at Rosedene, which has a guide price of £4,500 to £5,000 per acre, is being sold for Messrs W. Ashley and Son who have decided to scale down their farming activities.


Comprising three fields, situated to the east of the Longmynd hill range between Hamperley and Horderley, the land provides excellent grazing for cattle, sheep or horses and is subject to an Entry Level Environmental Scheme.
