Roy Mutimer new general manager for Cobb Europe

Roy Mutimer has been appointed general manager for Cobb Europe after 14 years in quality control and animal welfare responsibilities within Cobb.

Following his initial career with DEFRA in the UK, Mr Mutimer joined the Cobb Breeding Company UK Ltd in 1995 as a quality control centre manager, responsible for monitoring all internal flock testing for the company and a number of grandparent customers. Within two years his duties expanded as quality control manager to include internal biosecurity, customer support and supplier audits.

In 2001, Mr Mutimer moved to the US as world quality manager and within a year added animal welfare to his portfolio. He returned to the UK in 2004 as corporate animal welfare and quality assurance manager and a member of the business unit management team. In 2006 Roy was promoted to director of world quality assurance and animal welfare leading a major biosecurity and welfare program, liaising closely with the research and development program.

Stan Reid, Cobb vice president for sales and marketing commented: "We welcome Roy and his ability to work across all functions within the company. This has helped him gain a good appreciation of what is required to run a business unit and what it takes to succeed."

"Roy brings a firm understanding of Cobb’s core values and the value of relationships both inside the organization as well as our commitment to research and development and the importance of serving our customers. We look forward to his contribution in leading the European team in the future."
