A spraying equipment specialist experienced in supplying hand-held sprayers for applications in grounds care, landscaping, forestry, agriculture and commercial horticulture has joined the World’s largest sprayer manufacturer.

Ian Sutton, who lives near Cambridge and has a family background in agricultural crop research, has been appointed national account manager by Hozelock, a division of Exel Industries, to handle sales of Cooper Pegler and Berthoud professional hand-held sprayers in the UK and Ireland.

He brings to the role 20 years’ experience in the supply of high quality knapsack sprayers and a clear understanding of the benefits to operators of using spray application equipment produced to high standards of design, material quality and specification.

“In my previous roles with Pentair Hypro, a leading distributor of Exel’s Berthoud hand-held sprayers to the trade, the Cooper Pegler range was my main competitor,” notes Ian. “Now I’m relishing the challenge of handling sales of the industry’s two leading professional sprayer product lines.”

The highly-regarded Cooper Pegler products have been manufactured alongside the Berthoud professional range for the past eight years by Hozelock Exel, another division of Exel Industries, the world’s largest maker of plant protection spraying equipment.

The two product lines have distinct features and enjoy a strong reputation for durability and ease of use. But one thing common to both, says Ian, is that they are built to a specification, not down to a price.

“That’s important to professional organisations who want a reliable sprayer capable of standing up to the rough and tumble of daily use,” he says. “But it’s also important to operators that detailed design features – such as the industry standard-setting trigger design, a lack of sharp edges and the advanced ‘safety harness’ shoulder strap and belt combination – make the sprayers comfortable and less tiring to use over long hours.”

In his new role, Ian works with a network of independent dealers throughout the UK and Ireland supplying either or both of the two product lines, together with replacement nozzles and other wearing parts.
