New green technology discussion group for West Midlands

A New Green Technology Discussion Group is to be launched in Staffordshire next week for West Midlands based businesses. A series of events, part funded by LANTRA will take place across the region including events, short talks, farm walks and demonstrations to see and learn about green technologies and how they can be successfully put into practice.

Nick Platt and Julie White of Growing Rural Enterprise Ltd will be leading the project.

"This project is designed for those interested in finding out more about the new technologies available. The project shall be tailored to what people would like to learn more about and there are some great examples on farms and land holdings across the region" states Julie White.

The project launches on Tuesday 3rd May between 7pm and 9pm at Beechcliffe Farm, Trentham, Staffordshire ST4 8SF and will investigate Solar Photovoltaics. The session will be led by Dr Matthew Goodwin of Econergy and the cost is ’10. The next meeting will be held on 17th May at the same location, Beechcliffe Farm, Trentham and look into The Renewable Heat Incentive.

Future visits will include a straw bale burner, log and wood chip boilers, rainwater harvesting, ground and air source heat pumps and sheep wool insulation.
