NFU Scotland appoints Commercial Director

NFU Scotland has announced the appointment of its new Commercial and Subscriptions Director. Former NFUS Business Development Manager, Ashley Handy, has been chosen to succeed Alison Milne, who left this month after nine years with NFU Scotland.

Ashley, who has also worked at NFUS for nine years, will lead on the Union’s membership recruitment and retention, developing and supporting NFU Scotland’s regional activities, with a particular emphasis on customer service.

On starting her new role, NFUS Commercial and Subscriptions Director Ashley Handy said: “I am delighted to take up this position and am very much looking forward to the challenges ahead.

“Members are the heartbeat of the Union and a key part of my role is to continue to improve on the first class support service we provide to existing and new members.

“It is also an aspiration to drive forward the Union's regional activity to ensure that members continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the work of the Union. I will be leading a team of very talented Regional Managers, who, alongside our local Group Secretaries, play a huge part in the success of NFU Scotland.

“There is no doubt that this is a particularly testing time for agriculture: the volatile financial climate has intensified with recent extreme weather conditions, and now, more than ever, it is important to have a strong NFU Scotland fighting for the interests of the industry.”
