First LAMMA show for uprated stocks seeder

Stocks Ag Ltd is showing the latest version of its TurboJet seeder with an advanced control system, new feed motor and other improvements at LAMMA 2008.

Designed specifically for TurboJet equipment by RDS Technology, the Wizard control system is the most advanced on any pneumatic seeder sold in the UK, according to Stocks. It provides very accurate output in relation to ground speed based on pre-set application rates and calibration factors. It also allows rate changes to be made on the move and displays forward speed, area worked, application rate, fan status and hopper level. Area totals and calibration data are automatically stored in the memory when the system is switched off. There are also audible and visual alarms if fans or feed motor stop and if forward speeds are outside the parameters for maintaining pre-set seed rates.

Calibration with the Wizard system is very simple and accurate, with the attainable speed range shown during the procedure. A collection tray is included as standard.

The latest TurboJet is available with eight or ten outlets, each with a separate seed roll for accurate performance at rates as low as 2kg/hectare and as high as 40kg/ha at 12kph. Seed rolls are powered by a new design of electric motor and gear-box with integral encoder, and the seed is blown through large-bore pipes by two high-capacity electric fans. The outlets can be adapted to increase or reduce the number in operation, with all necessary fittings for the adaptations being included.

The equipment has a 240-litre hopper with an outlet in the base for fast emptying.

Stocks Ag Ltd is on stand G17 at LAMMA 2008.
