Cereals and oilseed growers invited to joint event

Cereals and oilseed growers in Wales looking to discover more about ‘risk, resilience and reward’ will get the opportunity to find out more about the issues facing their businesses at an event put on jointly by NFU Cymru and the AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds later this month.

Amongst the topics for discussion will be variety selection, whether or not to sell or incorporate straw, and the management of grain market risks and opportunities. Farmers will also have the opportunity to hear from a local agronomist, along with an overview of a broad range of AHDB activity designed to help businesses become more competitive and resilient.

The free to attend event, which includes lunch and refreshments, will take place from 12.30pm on Wednesday, 17 February, at the Bear Hotel in Cowbridge. Bookings can be made online via: AHDB Cereals or via telephone on: 024 7647 8677.

Perkin Evans, Chairman of NFU Cymru’s Combinable Crops and Horticulture Working Group said, “I am really pleased at the way in which AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds have once again been able to draw together some of the UK’s foremost experts in their fields. We’ve worked with AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds to tailor the topics and make sure that they are of maximum relevance to growers in Wales. I would urge anyone involved in the sector to come along and discover more at what promises to be a very interesting afternoon.”
