CLA elects new President

The CLA have elected Harry Cotterell as its President.

Harry, who owns and manages a traditional family estate in Herefordshire, was voted into the top job at the Association’s Annual General Meeting.

He said: "I am honoured to have been chosen to lead the Association for the next two years and am looking forward to the challenges ahead such as CAP reform, planning reform and the Water White Paper.

"I would like to pay tribute to my predecessor, William Worsley, a highly effective President, who worked tirelessly defending the interests of CLA members. He can take great pride in the fact that he has left the organisation in excellent shape."

Harry, 50, who has been CLA Deputy President since 2009, will serve until November 2013 as CLA President.

Former Vice-President Henry Robinson was elected as Deputy President, and Ross Murray was elected as Vice-President.
