British Lion eggs crack microwave cooking

A new campaign to promote cooking eggs in the microwave is being launched by British Lion eggs as students prepare for a new term at university.

An interactive recipe booklet and a series of competitions to win Bosch microwaves will feature on both digital media and in regional newspapers, reaching millions of consumers across the UK.

The recipes offer value for money at around £1 per portion and can be made in minutes, ranging from 90 second scrambled eggs to more adventurous dishes including tortillas and frittatas.

A campaign is underway to highlight the ’Micro Guide’ to university magazines.

Andrew Parker, Chairman of the British Egg Industry Council, said: "Students and time-poor professionals are important consumers of eggs and we want to help them create wholesome dishes from scratch.

"Not only are the new recipes easy to cook, but they are also available in a digital format that can be shared across social media platforms in an instant. Eggs are nutritious, filling and inexpensive, perfect for students looking for a quick meal solution. Finding time for eggs has never been easier."
