Briawood appoints new sales and marketing manager

Europe’s largest distributor of fibre cement sheeting materials, Briarwood Products, has appointed the first national sales and marketing manager in its 30-year history to reflect the high demand for profiled sheeting for the roofing and cladding of agricultural buildings.

Tony Fannon brings 25 years experience in the industry to help take the already thriving company, based in Weston-super-Mare, to new heights.

Briarwood has four regional distribution sites throughout the UK which are supplied from its main warehouse. The company was started by Alan Janes, who as a farmer himself has a first-hand understanding of the agricultural market and the need to provide a quality product at a competitive price together with excellent customer service – a philosophy that has seen Briarwood treble its turnover in as many years.

Most orders are delivered by Briarwood’s own self-unload fleet and because the company holds more than £1.5 million pound of stock under cover at any one time, goods are delivered ex-stock.

Tony has joined Briarwood following 15 years’ service with fibre cement manufacturer Marley Eternit where he was most recently deputy national sales director for profiled sheeting. He is returning to the distribution industry as he has also been a depot sales manager for two leading merchants prior to working on the manufacturing side.

He said: "Briarwood is very proud of its relationship with and its understanding of the agricultural market. When it comes to knowledge and advice on fibre cement roofing Briarwood is unsurpassed and I welcome the opportunity of working with such a well respected company."
