Agricultural machinery going under the hammer at Shropshire auction

Around 250 lots of agricultural machinery, equipment and produce will be going under the hammer at auction at a Shropshire mixed farm on October 2.

The dispersal auction at Red House Farm, Longville, Much Wenlock, near Shrewsbury is being conducted by auctioneers Halls on behalf of Ken and Margaret Burton, who have recently sold the farm together with The Larches.

“The Burton family has a good range of machinery and equipment suitable for a mixed farm

of around 250 acres and all the machinery has been regularly serviced and maintained,” said Peter Willcock, Halls’ chairman, who is conducting the auction.

“Furthermore, a lot of the machinery has been on this farm since it was purchased and has not had hard use.”

The 250-lot auction also includes a good selection of trailers, cultivation and harvesting equipment together with livestock handling and feeding equipment and a lifetime’s collection of engineering tools and accessories, including some collectors’ items. Lots from four other vendors are also included in the auction.

Vehicles on offer include a 986 Class Dominator 68 combine harvester with a 12 foot cut complete with bed trailer, a JCB 3CX digger, a JCB 526 Loadall, a Massey Ferguson 3095 Dynashift four wheel drive tractor, a New Holland TS 115 four wheel drive tractor and a 2000 Land Rover Defender.

The produce section comprises 150 round bales of 2014 hay, 750 bags of 2014 silage, Heston Bales 2013 wheat straw and small bales of Wheat straw.
