The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has announced that Worcestershire farmer Adam Quinney has been appointed to its Board, with the additional responsibility of chairing its Beef & Lamb Sector Board.
He joins former president Sir Peter Kendall, who is now chairman of AHDB, and former vice-presidents Gywn Jones and Paul Temple, who are heading up the dairy and arable sectors respectively.
AHDB Chairman Peter Kendall said: “Adam shares my passion and ambition for UK agriculture, his knowledge of the whole industry will be invaluable to us as we look to deliver greater value for levy payers. Adam’s expertise in the beef and lamb sector is especially important in these volatile markets. I look forward to working with him.”
Adam has previously served the organisation as a Sector Board member for AHDB Beef & Lamb (then EBLEX) between 2010 and 2012, and has held a number of other prominent positions in the industry such as a member of the NFU National Livestock Committee, Chairman of the NFU West Midland Livestock Forum, and NFU Vice President.
Adam is a trustee of the Studley College Trust and was the first English ASDA beef scholar. His farm at Sambourne, near Redditch, Worcestershire, comprises sheep, a beef suckler unit and a beef finishing unit.
